DON'T KILL ME! I SWEAR I'M BACK! (Happy New Years!)

HELLO MY FAVORITE BOOK-LOVIN' READERS!

I cannot say how terribly sorry I am for being so absent. I just haven't been in the blogging mood lately in all honestly (and I've been slightly busy, as well), but now even with Diploma exams next month (gun anyone?) I still promise to post AT LEAST one post each week. I can't promise that it will be a review (how can I read when I have 382049032 hormones waiting to be memorized?), but then again I do have some older reviews I have to catch up on, as well as some cover reveals and blog tours.
AND tomorrow I'll post an exciting review of Code Name Verity which I read along with Lauren from Lose Time Reading . She's one of my favorite bloggers, and it was a fun read along. We had quite the spasm over the book on twitter because it was so good, So i'm totally looking forward to our review's tomorrow.
I also feel like doing something exciting on the blog... I don't know what yet, but I wan't it to be within the first week of January (Think Quick, Rola!). Hm, We'll see.

Reviews This Week

-Code Name Verity
-Days of Blood & Starlight
-The Devil's Metal

Books To Be Read This Week

- Venom
- The Things They Carried

I also wanted to take this time to wish all my followers and readers a Happy New Year. I wouldn't have been here without your constant support-- especially the blogging community. I have made some forever friends from the Edmonton Book Bloggers, to some of my favorite online Bloggers miles and miles away. i hope to continue blogging and reviewing books for more years to come (and not be as inactive as I was this month) and continue growing with this amazing community!

I hope you have a year filled with bookish cheer and prosperity!

Rola's New Years Resolution List  (Kept as realistic as possible... I want to achieve all of these!)

- Read a minimum of 100 books (150 if I can manage)
- Build my home library to 200 books
- (cliche, but i'm serious) Get more fit and have a healthier diet
- quit playing with my hair (impossible but...)
- finish high school without murdering anyone
- reach 500 blog followers
-save up some $$ (I'm a spender)

Okay, I think that's a pretty decent list for now. Share your lists with me people!

Love you all xxx

  1. First, did you read The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien??? I read that one in my first year of University for an English class and really enjoyed it. :D

Second...I should make some resolutions too...and I should follow suit about the money one. I'm a spender too...I'm going to try to save more tho! No more buying everything that catches my eye!

Happy New Year, Rola! And I'm glad to have met you, too. :)

  4. Awe that sucks that you're not enjoying it. I was actually surprised that I liked it as much as I did. I'm not big on war stories, but I liked how that one had before, after, and during, and how it followed multiple characters. I thought it was pretty interesting. Hopefully it'll grow on you a bit, or at least start to suck less. :P

haha well, we'll both have to try then! Good luck to you, too! :D

Thanks! :D I'm definitely looking forward to getting to see everyone again in January! It's been a while since we all met up. :)

  5. 100 books?! I'm going for 55, and if I even make that, I'll just keep going by a 5 book interval. LOL, good luck with it! How many books do you have? I only have 80 on my shelf so far. I hope you reach over 500 followers, I mean who wouldn't want to follow your blog?!?

Have fun finishing high school, I'm going to start right when you leave, haha.

Saving money isn't such a big deal for me, because I don't have a job to make money to save it! I just get money from Chinese New Year/Christmas/my birthday that I save and use on books. Hopefully you can save some more money, but also have fun spending the money that you want to spend! :)

  10. HELLO FRIENDS AM LINDA COLLINS FROM CANADA MY BEST DECISSION I MADE ON HOW TO GET MY MARRIAGE BACK once when i went to Africa in February this year on a business summit. I meant a man who’s name is {Prophet Harry} he is really powerful and could help pray to bring back one’s gone, lost, misbehaving lover and prayers for good job and financial blessings .I’m now happy & a living testimony cos the man i had wanted to marry left me 3 weeks before our wedding and my life was upside down cos our relationship has been on for 3years. I really loved him, but his mother was against us and he had no good paying job. So when i met this {Prophet Harry}, i told him what happened and explained the situation of things to him. At first i was undecided, skeptical and doubtful, but i just gave it a try. And in 3 days when i returned to Canada, my boyfriend (now husband) called me by himself and came to me apologizing that everything had been settled with his mom and family and he got a new job interview so we should get married. I didn’t believe it cos the {Prophet Harry} only asked for my name and my boyfriends name and all i wanted him to do. Well we are happily married now and we are expecting our little kid, and my husband also got the new job and our lives became much better. His email is prophetharryprayerhome@yahoo.com..
