Red Glove REVIEW

Red Glove (Curse Workers #2)Curse Workers #2

Curses and cons. Magic and the mob. In Cassel Sharpe's world, they go together. Cassel always thought he was an ordinary guy, until he realized his memories were being manipulated by his brothers. Now he knows the truth—he’s the most powerful curse worker around. A touch of his hand can transform anything—or anyone—into something else.

That was how Lila, the girl he loved, became a white cat. Cassel was tricked into thinking he killed her, when actually he tried to save her. Now that she’s human again, he should be overjoyed. Trouble is, Lila’s been cursed to love him, a little gift from his emotion worker mom. And if Lila’s love is as phony as Cassel’s made-up memories, then he can’t believe anything she says or does.

When Cassel’s oldest brother is murdered, the Feds recruit Cassel to help make sense of the only clue—crime-scene images of a woman in red gloves. But the mob is after Cassel too—they know how valuable he could be to them. Cassel is going to have to stay one step ahead of both sides just to survive. But where can he turn when he can’t trust anyone—least of all, himself?

Love is a curse and the con is the only answer in a game too dangerous to lose.

                                                           4 Smokin' Stars

I defenitly had emotional glitches in this one. unlike White Cat , I actually had a hard time choosing my rating. In the end, I ended up bumping the former 3 stars to 4 stars, for the sake of me not being able to get this novel out of my head. which counts for something right?
I mean after i finised Red Glove , i was PISSED . Cassel is one retard, and Lila is even RETARDED-ER because she's too stupid to realize why Cassel tried to get Daneca to curse her. Stupid, Stupid, Stupid!
Ill be quiet though, for the sake of Spoiler-Free reviews.

Anyways, back to me being pissed. So, i was PISSED , at the ending... pretty much RAN to my closet, threw open the door & grabbed for Black Heart . Red glove leaves you no mercy, and i highly suggest buying Black Heart before finishing Red Glove. Just trust me.

Red glove is a thrilling novel, however doesn't exactly measure up to White Cat. the idea of the Feds is kind of annoying, i was sceptical in the beggining, but Black followed through. I hated how Cassel would ignore Lila due to his mother cursing her... their romance was probebly my favorite part of the novel, followed by the Killing/Mystery. I was SO happy when he broke a couple times and let himself have her. Then pissed for asking Daneca to work her. then happy that she didnt. then pissed at Lila for being pissed at Cassel. can you blame me for my mixed emotions? I think not.
However, i loved the way Cassel was able to solve the mystery about phils death. Black did a great job of dropping hints here and there, and finally putting it together at the end. this novel was defenitly a thrill, i enjoyed every bit of it.
Lila grew up fast in this one; she's seductive and has her hand firmly around Cassel's through. but thats okay, he likes it.
Black didn't disappoint on Cassels end either. he's even more boyish in this novel, despite the conflicting emotions, i loved watching Cassel weigh his choices about Lila. Kiss her when she wanted it, even though she's cursed? countless times he'd stop himself and ignore her.. until he broke. his struggle as realistic and showed that even a conman has a heart. Although, i picked up that Lila wasn't cursed when she yelled at him in the caf, it was her that wanted him that night in her room, not Cursed Lila.Cassel can figure our fed crimes, but cant decifer that -_- boys.

" The smell of Lila's skin, the way her eyes shine with Mischief, the low rasp of her voice. It hurts to think of her, but I cant stop. It ought to hurt.
After all, hell is supposed to be hot."

Watch out for Black Heart , in the curse workers' series!

Enjoy my lovelies!
